If you have been reading this blog for any length of time, you know my fascination with Mrs. Exeter, an older woman of fashion invented by Vogue magazine after World War Two. She was featured on the magazine’s pages for the next decade and a half. In order to consolidate all my thoughts on this interesting figure, I just published an article about her in the British journal, Clothing Cultures. Although I had sworn off scholarly writing after retirement, it was a good way to gather my thoughts and perhaps introduce Mrs. Exeter to a broader audience.
I can’t share it in its entirety here, but if you write to me at the address firstname.lastname@example.org, I would love to send you a copy!
