    For no logical reason, I prefer this to the apple, pear, triangle, beer stein, etc. descriptions of women’s shapes that I’ve seen in women’s magazines and on the Internet. I’ve always suspected the idea of comparing women’s bodies to fruit and inanimate objects was created by men, since men have been and still are the creators and arbiters of the women’s fashion business.
    I guess I’m closest to Marianne. None of these women display the complete lack of a waistline that causes most of my despair in finding clothing that is flattering.
